Since 2006 we have been actively supporting the education of children in Lombok. Thanks to several regular donors and small sponsors, we have been able to support several students who have achieved an otherwise very expensive and unaffordable higher education for the locals. Among other things, we educate the local community on conservation and recycling by helping where it is effective and needed.
Check out the programs we offer.
Our assistance is not extensive. We focus mainly on the south of Lombok. However, this makes the aid more intensive, continuous and helps to provide children with an education from kindergarten to university.
Even a small financial contribution can be a big help to others.
Some of the projects we have completed thanks to you!
In the summer of 2019, we were able to establish a great partnership with HP Inc. that allowed us to build the first ever computer lab for the public in Lombok.
At the end of 2018, a devastating earthquake struck Lombok and especially its northern part. With your financial and material support, we were able to help countless individuals and groups in the worst affected areas, where our volunteers and coordinators regularly delivered aid.
Thanks to some amazing help through a crowdfunding campaign, we managed to raise enough money to build our new kindergarten for local children in Ngolang village. The original one had been damaged by a series of previous earthquakes and was no longer safe for the children.
In addition to environmental education in English classes, volunteers and Indonesian teachers under Kintari also clean up around schools and beaches. For adults, there are advanced afternoon English classes. For talented students, Kintari funds their studies at secondary and university level. In this way, Kintari gives local people, especially children, a chance for a better education and a more positive future.

In 2011, Kintari funded and worked with the local community to build a missing preschool in the village of Ngolang, where our volunteers regularly travel to teach English classes and educate the children through games, art and other interesting activities.
In 2009-2010, Kintari renovated a primary school in the village of Ngolang on the island of Lombok, equipping it with school furniture, textbooks and providing English lessons by Czech volunteers all year round. Kintari also arranged to dig a well and then build washrooms there. By introducing hygiene habits in the school, this has helped to stop the epidemic of childhood skin diseases.
„Kintari, influenced by local culture, has its pros and cons. But when I finally look into the eyes of those children, I realize my calling. Lombok is great, I know every corner here.“
„I love it in Lombok, my boyfriend and I are even building a cozy little natural hut. The different culture of Indonesia gives you a great insight into life…“
„Teaching those kids to take their first steps with a mouse in their hand was an experience. You realize again what is commonplace for us – it doesn’t have to be for others…I believe it will broaden their horizons a bit more.“
„The facilities at Kintari foundation are amazing and friendly. Because we had both Indonesian lessons and those who are a little bit talented in dance could take classes in traditional Indonesian dance.“
„I spent three weeks in Lombok and I have to say I would go back in a heartbeat. The kids were great, even if sometimes the language differences held us back. I managed to travel around the area, including Bali and Nusa Penida.“
„The locals are very nice people, they try to help you, they smile and you have this pleasant feeling that nothing can happen to you. Not many people speak English, but we still got along.“
